CADfix™ Version 3.0 Now Available

MILFORD, OH; November 8, 1999-- International TechneGroup Incorporated (ITI), the world’s leading provider of product data interoperability solutions, announces the release of CADfix version 3.0. CADfix (www.cadfix.com) is used to detect and repair geometry and topology imperfections found in a growing number of CAD models today. With CADfix, those who receive problem CAD files for downstream applications (FEA, CNC, Rapid Prototyping, Data Exchange, etc.) now have a proven method for effectively accessing and utilizing CAD files from customers and suppliers. CADfix slashes time spent reworking or recreating problem CAD files.

CADfix 3.0 is Y2K compliant. In addition, version 3.0 contains a number of significant enhancements including: import and export for native CADDS, STEP (AP203 & AP214), ACIS version 5.0, and Parasolid. In addition to standard and I-DEAS flavored IGES export, CADfix 3.0 can output IGES files flavored specifically for Pro/ENGINEER and CATIA.

• Automatic Batch - Models can be processed automatically in batch mode.
• Geometry Editing Tools - New Geometry Editor tool enables users to create entities that might be missing from the source CAD data file. This ability to create points, edges, surfaces, faces and solids in a variety of ways means that models previously not fixable can now be processed successfully.
• File Size Reduction - IGES files exported from CADfix can be reduced up to 200% smaller than files from previous versions.
• NURB Point Removal - New facility allows the removal of points from a NURBS edge or surface.
• Diagnostics Tool - A new Diagnostics tool scans models with failure criteria determined by a user defined export system. Once problems have been found the Diagnostics tool allows you to create a working set, probe the entities, or launch the geometry fixer to repair the problems.
