TranscenData Europe exhibits full product range at MICAD 2002.
TranscenData will be exhibiting its full product range, including DEXcenter, one of its core interoperability solutions and CADfix Version 5.0, the latest version of its industry leading CAD data interoperability tool at MICAD 2002 from 26th to 28th March at the Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles, France (stand M10).
TranscenData Europe has a full range of data interoperability offerings which are split into a series of three solution lines, each incorporating products, services and strategic partnerships.
One of TranscenData primary interoperability products to be exhibited is DEXcenter, for engineering supply chain integration essential for the sharing of product data.
DEXcenter manages, controls and centralises the flow of product data between departments, customers and suppliers. It is a server based system providing convenient and reliable exchange of data via the Internet/intranets. Exchanged data is chronicled, stored and managed, providing enterprises with a complete audit trail for engineering data being transferred between customers and suppliers.
DEXcenter controls the data movement by employing best practices and optimum translation paths, automatically launching CAD systems, external translators and tools such as CADfix. Data is inspected, repaired, and prepared for specific target systems and much of the process is automated to the push of a button.
Profiles of individual members of the supply chain are set up in the system to determine the type of files they require and any preferred translation routes, formats or transmission methods.
TranscenData will also be introducing CADfix Version 5.0, a product aimed at anyone who has to reuse solid modelling geometry. The problems associated with transferring such geometry - either between modellers or from a CAD system to a downstream application such as finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD) or tooling - are many and varied. They stem from the inherent difficulty in defining complex geometry in 3D space. Different ways of storing surfaces and their boundaries - and particularly inconsistent tolerances - can all contribute to the success or otherwise of transfer from one system to another.
Version 5.0 will deliver significant improvements to all aspects of the product with new and improved import and export interfaces, enhanced processing times, support for a wider range of ancillary CAD data and assemblies and user configurable automatic model processing.
John Meaney, head of sales and marketing at TranscenData Europe comments: "MICAD offers TranscenData the ideal opportunity to show off CADfix Version 5.0. Our software has continually developed and improved over the years and now with Version 5.0's new range of features and improvements, we believe user experience will be greatly enhanced. We are delighted to be introducing these at the show."
Other TranscenData interoperability solutions presented at MICAD include CADIQ (for model data integrity and quality testing) and IGESworks (for 2D and 3D IGES file flavouring).
John Meaney comments: "TranscenData solutions overcome challenging data interoperability problems, thereby raising the value of a customer's engineering product data. Our range of effective interoperability software offers engineers a distinct competitive advantage."
About TranscenData Europe
TranscenData is the product data interoperability business within International
TechneGroup Incorporated (ITI). TranscenData provides interoperability
solutions that enable companies to effectively exchange, reuse, and share
engineering product data among diverse software applications used throughout a
manufacturing enterprise and its supply chain. TranscenData solutions are aimed
directly at reducing and eliminating non-value-added time and costs associated
with reusing product data. TranscenData solutions are distributed worldwide
through a combination of direct sales, resellers, and strategic vendor/OEM
partners. Included among TranscenData's customers are Ford, Siemens Automotive,
Kodak, Xerox, ABB, EADS, Loewe, BAE SYSTEMS and Cosworth Technology.
