CADfix 4.0 wins praise from manufacturing industry
CADfix 4.0 - launched this month by FEGS at CIM 2000 - was Highly Commended in the prestigious CIM Show Product Awards. The awards, established to recognise products that show a clear business advantage for end users in manufacturing, were judged by a panel that included independent experts from leading international analysts AMR, Cambashi and ARC. CADfix 4.0 was second only to the latest release of SolidWorks in the "Best IT product for engineering, development and management" category.
"CADfix has been specifically designed to meet the needs of those who have to reuse solid modelling data," explained John Meaney, Sales and Markteing Director at FEGS, an ITI company. "Increasingly, this includes manufacturers, who have to build tools and products for which no traditional engineering drawing exists. It is therefore vital that there is a reliable link between the CAD model and the various downstream applications that make up the design to manufacture cycle. We are delighted that CADfix has been recognised as just such a link."
"It was clear that in CADfix we had found a product that had been written by experts but at the same time could easily be used by engineers who cannot be expected to grasp the complexities inherent in 3D data exchange," said Brian Tinham, editor of Manufacturing Computer Solutions and chairman of the judging panel.
