FEGS provides 3D emergency service
FEGS has launched a new Bureau Translation service, an emergency resource for fixing messy or unreadable CAD models. Bureau Translation alleviates the problem of unreadable files which would otherwise mean extensive remodelling or an embarrassing request that a client tries using a different format.
Interoperability problems are common stumbling blocks when work is carried out on externally created solid modelling data, and stem from the difficulty in transferring parts and assemblies from one CAD environment to another. Whatever claims are made by the developers of CAD systems and downstream applications such as FEA, CFD and CAM tools, there is little or no chance of third party CAD data reading in perfectly first time round. FEGS has now provided the remedy for this frequent and time consuming data transfer problem.
FEGS has been in the business of solving data interoperability problems for over 20 years and has successfully translated some of its own expertise into the widely acclaimed CADfix data translator. Now, the power of CADfix is available on demand to anyone who needs it - not just those whose need for CAD repair warrants a full time licence. FEGS's Bureau Translation service means that CADfix - with an expert driving it - is available via email whenever it is needed.
John Meaney, Sales & Marketing Director of FEGS, explains how the Bureau Translation service operates. "The troublesome file is emailed to us, with customers advising FEGS as to how and in what system it will be used. The file is then returned to the customer not only in the right format but also optimised for its intended use." Meaney continues, "Interoperability problems can seriously impede business processes. Now the power of CADfix is available on demand to anyone who requires assistance, not just those who have a full time CADfix licence."
