ITI Adds CADfix Technology to Product Data Integration Arsenal

MILFORD, OH, & CAMBRIDGE, UK; OCTOBER 1, 1998 -- International TechneGroup Incorporated (ITI) today announced that UK-based Transcendata Europe Ltd will be combined with global ITI operations. Under the agreement, Transcendata Europe will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of ITI.

Founded in 1978, Transcendata Europe grew into a leading software development organization. In recent years the company has focused on the development of core modeling technology to satisfy growing demand for CAD/CAM/CAE product data exchange and geometry reuse requirements. The result of this effort is a new software product called CADfix. With its powerful interactive graphics environment, CADfix allows 3D models, from multiple software systems, to be evaluated and geometric imperfections to be assessed and automatically repaired. Through the use of CADfix, models can be successfully imported and reused by major geometry based application software systems on the market today.

Significant to the ITI/Transcendata Europe merger is the marriage of CADfix into ITI's industry-leading product data integration tools and services. ITI will continue to develop, sell, and support CADfix for existing Transcendata Europe CAE customers in addition to ITI's data exchange customers. "CADfix will play an instrumental role in the future of our combined organizations," explained Don Hemmelgarn, ITI Vice President and General Manager of the company's Product Data Integration business. "CADfix is an excellent complement to ITI's IGES/Works®, STEP/Works®, and CAD/IQ™ interoperability solutions. Use of CADfix has been shown to increase the data exchange success rate of 3D solid models and surfaces to more than 95%," said Hemmelgarn. "ITI will continue to offer CADfix as a stand-alone solution -- at the same time we anticipate utilizing the software with, and integrating the technology into current and future products and services."
